Four Crescent Moons - Chapter Six

 ~ Chapter Six ~

'Friend?'

Crescent actually smiles, a slightly crooked one, but it's the best he can do. Ash laughs and boops the Multiwing on tip of his snout with his claw. "Come on, let's go. I want to see what this place has." He leans in and whispers, "I heard it even has a lake somewhere in one of the caves." He looked a bit excited, after all, he is half Seawing. Crescent nods and Ash steps away to let Crescent get down from his new bed. He hops down, turning around and rummages through his bag. He pulls it out and ties it around his neck, turning around to reveal a necklace with a small crescent-shaped stone. Ash steps nearer to get a closer look at the curious cloudy-transparent mineral, "Is that..Moonstone?" Crescent nods, "Yes. I f-found some, in a small cave occupied by a few bears. I thought it looked pretty and would m-make good stuff...so I took a little bit at a time when they were gone. I didn't think they really n-needed it and I just wanted something of my own, so..." Ash smiles, "Well it suits you. Especially since its shape pretty much symbolizes you." Crescent blushes, "T-Thank you." Ash just chuckles and walks toward the door, turning around and motioning for the Multiwing to follow.

They walk around in the hallways of the school, going only where their talons took them, then they turn a corner and Crescent bumps into someone. "S-Sorry.." he looks up to see a seemingly grumpy Icewing in front of him, an ice-cold glare boring through his soul and sending a chill down his spine. The Icewing huffs, frosty air coming out of his nostrils. He seemed to be observing Crescent, as if he noticed that he's not a full-blooded Nightwing. It wasn't too hard to tell, since his wings are a bit on the large side and the barb on his tail is quite obvious. "Don't think I've seen you around. What's your name?" says Ash, turning the Icewing's attention from the Multiwing. "Blizzard." he says. Ash nods and smiles, "Well nice to meet you Blizzard. I'm Ash and this is Crescent." He points at each of them as he speaks. "You're girlfriend I assume?" Crescent scales turn a deep pinkish-purple and he shakes his head, "N-No. I just met him today...and..I'm n-not a girl.." The Icewing's brow twitches and he huffs again, his frosty breath cooling the air around him. "My apologies. Well, it's nice to meet you, but I'm a bit socially exhausted. So if you please, I'll be on my way." They both nod and step out of the way to make room for the Icewing to walk by. "He seems nice." says Ash with a low chuckle, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. 'Damn. Are all the dragons I meet going to be hot? So far, I'm lucky. No one seems to think I'm serious.' Crescent hears from Ash's thoughts, seeing the hybrid glance at him in the corner of his eye, making him blush. 'Does he really mean it? Who is he talking about?' he thinks to himself as they approach another room. They walk through the doorway and see a beautiful sight. Dragons and other dragonets from all over the continent swimming in the iridescent clear blue water and climbing on the tall stone formations while others sit on the shore and chat amongst themselves and rest from their long journeys.

Ash gasps and practically barrels down the path, "C'mon Cres! They even have cactus growing here! Well, small ones at least." Crescent blinks at the nickname and smiles to himself, 'Is this what it feels like to have friends? Is this my new home? ' He took a step and before he knew it, everything was black and he felt as if he were falling forever.
